One of the most beautiful Italian beach resorts: Bibione.
But Bibione is not the typical beach resort you can imagine. In fact, in addition to the beach, this town offers a natural environment of rare beauty, made up of the lagoon of Bibione. To the extreme west of the island, connected to the mainland by a bridge, there are two fish farm valleys of great environmental value: Valgrande and Vallesina. The two valleys occupy a total of 475 hectares, of which more than half are water surfaces.
Valgrande is the product of the beneficial action of man over nature: the actions of the owners of this valley in fact have not changed the appearance of it, promoting the best environmental conditions with the creation of a new fishing lake (where extensive farming of some particular fish is practised, including the sea-bass and the sea-bream), a forest with a rich flora and fauna and the typical huts, situated on the edge of the lagoon, in front of the Porto Baseleghe, typical houses built of reeds and wood still used by fishermen.
Here you can practice beautiful walking, cycling and horse riding in the company of an expert guide to discover the nature and history of this place, visiting the archaeological remains and mosaics of a Roman Villa and observing the wonderful birdlife of the lake, with the opportunity to meet even deer and squirrels.
